| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:15.0 | Hey there, Spouts. Today is Tuesday, October 1st, 2019, and is also the feast day of St. |
| 0:27.4 | Teres. Now, if you have been listening to the Catholic Spouts podcast for any time at all, |
| 0:33.3 | then you know that we love St. Teres. So before we go back to our topic for the week, |
| 0:40.0 | let's talk about this great saint. Now, St. Torres was a French nun who lived over a hundred |
| 0:47.4 | years ago. And although she died young when she was still in her early 20s, She is a doctor of the church. She entered a |
| 0:57.8 | Carmelite monastery when she was still quite young and died there. So what in the world did she |
| 1:03.4 | do that really changed this world enough that we proclaimed her a doctor of the church? |
| 1:10.1 | Well, she showed us a new way to holiness. |
| 1:13.8 | She taught us about something called the little way, |
| 1:18.3 | which she referred to as the way to holiness for the rest of us. |
| 1:23.9 | So if you're a normal person, if you aren't perfect, if you can't help but give into the temptation of sin, |
| 1:31.3 | if you sometimes struggle with laziness because you prefer not to pray or not to give of what you have to those that are in need, |
| 1:41.3 | then the little way to holiness is the way for you. |
| 1:47.0 | The little way is a way to holiness that values everything that we do, the hidden things, |
| 1:54.1 | the tiny sacrifices that no one notices, but we know that nothing is small to God. |
| 2:00.6 | The little way to holiness also is a call to embrace your littleness |
| 2:05.5 | and to remember that God is our almighty father and he wants nothing more than us to allow him to love us. |
| 2:14.0 | In the way that an enduring father would love us, pick us up when we fall and hold us close to |
| 2:20.3 | him on his lap and whisper that he loves us. So let's all be like St. Teres today and strive for |
| 2:27.9 | holiness in the big ways, but also in the little ways. So this week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we are talking about the Holy Bible, about |
| 2:39.2 | scripture. |
