| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouse, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:14.6 | Hey there, Sprouse. Today is Friday, September 13th, 2019. This week on the Catholic Sprouts |
| 0:25.7 | podcast, we are talking about holiness for girls. We've already talked about the fact that boys and |
| 0:31.7 | girls are equal, but we're totally different and therefore call to different things and ask to walk a different |
| 0:39.6 | path to holiness. To understand our differences, we've talked about the feminine genius and already |
| 0:47.7 | talked about three parts of that. First of all, girls are created to receive. We are created to be sensitive to the feelings of other |
| 0:56.4 | people and therefore understand them and love them better. We also call to be generous and through |
| 1:02.5 | this generosity to build friendships and communities. Finally, today we're going to talk about |
| 1:09.0 | the fourth part of this feminine genius. |
| 1:12.0 | And St. John Paul the Great talks about this as a call to be mothers. |

| 1:40.4 | God and St. John Paul the Great thought that this was a wonderful choice. And clearly, there must be a way to be a |
| 1:51.2 | mother and still be a religious sister. And in fact, there is. Now, when we say that we are called to be a mother, it can mean, yes, we're called to |
| 2:05.7 | have a whole bunch of kids and raise them. But it also can mean other things, that we are meant |
| 2:12.5 | to be a mother to the larger world. And even as a girl right now, who isn't a mother and won't be for years, |
| 2:24.0 | you still can embrace this calling to be a mother. And here's how. Now think about the nature of a mother. |
| 2:37.6 | Let's say that they have a child that is just not being very good. They are mean, they're selfish, they've done all sorts of terrible things, |
| 2:43.3 | and they are just having a really bad day. Now, would a mother ever abandon this child, |
| 2:50.1 | just leave it on the sidewalk, walk away, and not give it |
| 2:54.0 | another thought? No. A mother would never do that. A mother is called to love even in the worst and |
