| 0:00.0 | You're listening to Catholic Sprouts, the daily podcast for Catholic kids that strives to plant seeds of faith. |
| 0:16.0 | Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Monday, August 26, 2019. This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we are going to be wrestling with a very important question. This question is, why do we need God? Now, this might sound like a crazy question, a question that might even be a little bit |
| 0:41.2 | sinful to ask, but it is important that we have a clear answer to this question if we are going to |
| 0:50.0 | truly practice our faith in the way that we should. Why do we need God? Why are we not able to just |
| 0:58.0 | do it on our own? Why do we need him? Now, there are lots and lots of answers to this question, |
| 1:06.3 | different answers depending on what's going on in our lives, who we are, what our experiences have been. |
| 1:13.6 | But we're going to talk about five different answers to this question that will profoundly |
| 1:19.6 | change the way that you see God. Remember, it's not like we're doing God a favor when we go to Mass or when we pray. It's not like we're |

| 1:42.8 | that we're going to talk about today for why we need God is because we can |
| 1:47.6 | only really know ourselves when we know God. In fact, it is through God that we are revealed to |
| 1:59.7 | ourselves. |
| 2:05.5 | Now, this might sound a little bit crazy, but I want you to think about this. |
| 2:09.9 | God created each and every person on this earth. |
| 2:15.5 | And although we might think that God created us to do certain things or to be useful, |
| 2:17.7 | that's not the case at all. |
| 2:21.8 | God created us simply to love us. |
| 2:25.1 | We were created to be loved. |
| 2:29.4 | It was an act of love itself that created us. And even if we never do anything useful, even if we never succeed at anything, as long as we are |
| 2:37.7 | living our lives with God, that's all he asks. So now, since God had no real use for us, |
| 2:47.6 | many ways we can think about this as that God loved us into being. |
| 2:54.8 | And he didn't just love everyone into being at the same time. |
