Hey there, Sprouts, today is Wednesday, May 14th, 20205. Today is also the Vise of St. Matthias. Now, St. Matthias, you might not have heard of him, but he became one of those apostles right after Jesus ascended into

heaven. So here's what happened. As you likely know, there was a man named Judas, who was one of

the 12 apostles, but he betrayed Jesus. And he refused God's mercy, and he ended his life.

So when the early church was setting out to bring the good news to every corner of the earth,

there were only 11 apostles.

So they got together and they elected Judas's replacement. The man that they elected,

his name was Matthias. Now the Bible includes some interesting details that Peter shares that

Matthias and another man that they were considering, that they were both faithful followers of Jesus

throughout his life, and that they also were both witnesses to the resurrection.

So the election of Matthias kind of shows us how apostolic succession works, but it also reminds

us that there were more than just 12 people who followed

Jesus. There were many who believed in him, many who witnessed his miracles and saw him after he

rose from the dead. And one of those men was Matthias. Now, Sprouts, this week we have been talking about why is for Yahweh. Today we are

going to continue to talk about God the Father, who revealed himself as I am who am. But we're

going to turn and look at what we state every week at Mass in the creed. Before we get there, please
