0:29.8	Hey there, sprouts. Today is Wednesday, April 30th, 20205. Today is also the feast day of Pope Pius V. Saint Pope Pius V was a very important priest who served during the 1500s.
0:38.3	Now, if you can remember, the 1500s were a very sad time for Christianity
0:43.7	because it's when the Protestant Reformation happened.
0:48.2	Millions of people died in Europe when Luther and John Kelvin broke away from the Catholic Church and began spreading
0:55.8	heresy throughout the region. Pope Pius V was the Pope who really instituted the counter
1:03.8	reformation, very holy reforming of the Catholic Church and in line with what God had intended. He did this while also
1:13.5	preserving Christendom by fighting the Turks who were trying to invade and conquer Europe and
1:21.5	exterminate Christianity. He is remembered most for the Battle of Lepanto, which was a
1:27.2	miraculous naval victory over the Turks during his time as Pope.
1:34.8	Now, this week on the Catholic Spouts podcast, we are talking about X is for Christ, which we know that X is not the first letter in the word Christ in English, but it is in Greek.
1:49.1	And therefore, the Cairo is a very important symbol for Jesus.
1:53.7	So we're working through all sorts of symbols.
1:56.3	We have been talking about symbols taken from Greek letters so far.
2:00.6	But today we're going to be talking about
2:02.8	two animals that represent Jesus. One is a fish and one is a lamb. But before we get to that,
