Hey there, sprouts, today is Friday, March 27th, 2025. This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we have been talking about tradition and how tradition, secret tradition,

passed down through the bishops who have been appointed

through apostolic succession is an important part of our faith and helps us be united in one

faith. Today we're going to look at an example of tradition, which is the seven sacraments. This is a huge topic, so we're going to

just touch on it. But before we dive into this, please join me in our March prayer, the Fatima

prayer. In the name of the Father and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen. Oh, my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us

from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those who are in most need of thy mercy,

amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

So like I said, sacred scripture is the bedrock, the foundation of our faith.

Everything we believe comes from Scripture.

However, not everything we believe is explicitly or directly stated in scripture.

You can imagine there was a lot of questions as the church was being formed.

And who was going to answer these questions?

Well, it was the apostles and the men who replaced the apostles.

It's important that we remain united in the practice of our faith and

our set of beliefs. So therefore, these questions need answers. So let's talk about the seven

sacraments. Now, all of the sacraments are referenced in the Gospels. For example, the sacrament of baptism. We know that John the

Baptist was baptizing and that he even baptized Jesus Christ. We know that the apostles go out and they

are baptizing people. And so we know, yes, baptism is good. Baptism is the beginning of being in relationship with God.
