Hey there, Sprouts, Today is Thursday, March 20th, 20205. This week, we have been talking about S for soul as we work our way through the Catholic ABCs. We have already established that the soul is the

animating principle in our body. We've also talked about the creation moment when God breathed

into the body to bring it to life. And yesterday we talked about the virtue of hope,

which is the reminder that our soul is immortal

and that our true home is heaven.

Today we're going to talk about something that's very important that people have been

confused about many points in history, which is the fact that our body and soul are united, at least in this life.

But before we get into that, let's pray our March prayer, which is the Fatima Prayer.

In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Oh, my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell.

Lead all souls to heaven, especially those who are in most need of your mercy, amen.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, amen.

So what is the relationship between the body and the soul?

Now, we talked about that we have this physical body that we can touch and see,

but we also have a soul within us that is not material, and it is the soul that gives us our thoughts,

our passions, our desires. So these two parts, throughout history, people have sometimes

thought of them as separate. And in fact, sometimes people think, oh, the body is bad,

but the soul is good.

I'm telling you that that is wrong.
