This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we are returning to our ABCs of the Catholic

faith.

This week, we are on the letter R, which stands for relics. We have a really

fun week ahead of us. Today we're going to talk about what relics are and why they're important

to us as Catholics and have been important to the church since the very beginning. But then as we go through the week, we are going to talk about some of the most well-known relics

that exist in the world.

And there are some incredible physical objects that link us to the lives of the saints,

but of course, even more important than that, to the the lives of the saints, but of course even more important than that to the

earthly life of Jesus Christ. Before we dig into this, though, please join me in our prayer that

we have been praying all month, all February, the Jesus prayer. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

What is a relic?

Well, a relic is a fragment of the body or a physical possession of a canonized saint.

Relics are also things that Jesus used, touched, was hurt by, was wrapped in.
