Hey there, sprouts. Today is Monday, February 10th, 20205. Today is also the feast day of St.

Scholastica. St. Cyclastica was famous, but she had an even more famous twin brother, you might know. His name was St. Benedict. St. Scholastica lived in the four and five hundredths during a very difficult time after the

fall of the Roman Empire when life was very chaotic, and yet she lived a very holy life set apart for God.

After her brother, St. Benedict founded a monastery and really began to lead monastic

life for one of the first times in the history of the church, she founded a nunnery for women

nearby. History tells us that St. Benedict and St. Scholastica loved each other, and each year they would

spend an entire day together sharing, talking about God.

One time at the end of this day, St. Benedict was getting ready to leave, and Scholastica

begged him to stay a little bit longer.

He said no. So she bowed her head and prayed, and suddenly a great storm erupted.

St. Benedict turned to his sister and asked, what have you done? And she said simply that she had asked him for a favor, which she refused.

But she asked God, and he did not refuse.

And so the two stayed longer and continued to talk.
