Sprouts, where every Saturday we discuss the art of Dragon Sane.

First off, I just want to say Merry Christmas

and Happy New Year. Oh, how I've missed sharing these episodes with you over the last month, but I do

hope you had a splendid Advent season learning about the story of salvation history through the Jesse

tree reflections. Everything in Catholicism assumes that we know our story. So it's vitally important that we don't

just know the different stories in the Bible, but that we know that the entire story fits together

into the greatest story ever told. That story continues with all the saints of ages past and with

you and me. Speaking of saints, today we celebrate the first native-born American saint, St. Elizabeth

Anne Seton. As we begin a new calendar year, it's always great to reflect on where God is calling us

and how he might want us to serve. St. Elizabeth and Seton is a great saint to pray to for intercession

about your vocation in life. In a way, she lived two lives. She was a devoted

wife and mother of five children who was deeply in love with her husband and committed to the

vocation of marriage. But after her husband died at a young age, her life changed dramatically.
