Hey there, sprouts. Today is Thursday, October 31st, 2024. Today has also been known for centuries as

All Hallows Eve, or the day before All Saints Day, or Halloween.

Now, did you know that I know you're probably getting ready to trick or treat and enjoy Halloween,

but this day started as a preparation for the great solemnity that we are celebrating tomorrow,

All Saints Day.

So, as Catholic children, I encourage you to have fun today, but to remember that the real

feast day is tomorrow.

So maybe save your candy for tomorrow and wear your best costume as a saint tomorrow.

Now this week we are talking about indulgence for the letter I as we move through the ABCs of the Catholic faith. Today we are going to talk about the different

kinds of indulgences. But first, please join me in our morning offering prayer that we are

learning this month. In the name of the Father

and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,

I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day, for all the intentions of your sacred heart,

in union with the holy sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, in reparation for my sins,

for the intentions of all my relatives and friends, and in particular, for the intentions of the

Holy Father, amen.

So like we said, an indulgence, it removes the temporal consequence of sin,

or the time we would spend in purgatory, even though we've been to confession and we are right with God, we are in His grace.
