Greetings young Squires Faith. Greetings, Young Squire Sprouts. Today is the 21st day in the ninth month in the year of our Lord, 2024. My name is Sir Roland Paterlot, and you're listening to Saturdays with

Sir Rowland on Catholic Sprouts, where every Saturday we discuss the art of dragon's slain.

Today we celebrate the feast of St. Matthew the

Apostle, one of the original 12 disciples. He wrote one of the four Gospels, but I'm not going to

tell you which one. You'll have to look that up for yourself. As you most likely already know,

Matthew was a tax collector, and the Jews hated tax collectors because they were under the

influence of the green dragon of

greed. They often cheated the people by collecting more tax than was due, and plus Matthew was a Jew

helping the Romans, and so you can imagine that the fellow Jews saw him as a traitor. But Matthew

encountered Jesus, the god of the universe, and to his credit, he dropped everything and immediately

followed Jesus and became a very

generous man, sharing the good news of the gospel to the ends of the earth until he was martyred,

and in doing so, he crushed Argyros, the green dragon of greed, that previously wounded him badly.

Speaking of greed, Argyros, the green dragon of greed is our topic of discussion today.
