It's week six of our journey through the ABC's of the Catholic Faith. This week are on the letter F, which stands for FORGIVENESS! Join us this week as we explore how central Forgiveness is for us as Catholics.

+ MONDAY: Nothing is unforgivable

+ TUESDAY: God alone can forgive sins

+ WEDNESDAY: Sorrow for our sins is the first step of Forgiveness

+ THURSDAY: We go to confession because Jesus told us to.

+ FRIDAY: We imitate Jesus when we forgive others

Today is also the feast day of an incredible German woman, St.

Hildegard of Bingen.

Hildegard lived just about a thousand years ago, right in the year like

1098 and after. She was the 10th child in her family, and according to pious tradition,

she was tithed to the church, meaning they gave their 10th child to the church. She was brilliant. She was sent

to go live with an anchores, a woman who lived in seclusion next to the church, devoted herself

to prayer. As she grew, St. Hildegard eventually was the prioress of a large monastery in Germany.

She led those sisters and even some brothers,

and she was just brilliant on so many topics, from plants to music to theology. She was also a mystic, meaning that she received mystical visions. She is an incredible woman. I challenge you to learn more
