It's week three of our journey through the ABC's as Catholics. That means we are on the letter C, and C is for CROSS! Join us as we dig into the question of the cross. Jesus didn't "have to" save us through His death on the cross, but He did. So what does this tell us?

0:31.6	Hey there, Spouts, today is Wednesday, August 21st, 2024. Today is also the feast day of St. Pius the 10th. Pope St. Pius the 10th lived in the late 1800s, early 1900s. He was Italian, and he was from a poor family.
0:44.2	He was brilliant. He became a priest and a bishop and a cardinal. Eventually, he became Pope.
0:51.0	His motto, well, he was Pope, was to renew all things in Christ.
0:58.2	There was a lot of things happening at the time that needed renewal. Pope St. Pius
1:04.0	the 10th worked to reform the liturgy, also music used in the liturgy. He fought heresy, and he also is known for helping France
1:16.5	heal after the terrible French Revolution. Now this week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast,
1:22.9	we have been talking about the cross as we work our way through the ABCs. We've been wrestling with the
1:29.9	question of the cross. What do we learn? The fact that God chose the cross to save us,
1:36.1	what does this show us about who God is? Yesterday we talked about that this demonstrates
1:42.3	how much God loves us. And today we are going to
1:46.6	discuss that the cross is a model of obedience. It not only shows us the great obedience that
1:55.8	exists within God, within the Trinity, but also the obedience that we are called to as followers of Christ.
