2012. Today is also the feast day of St. Stephen of Hungary. St. Stephen of Hungary lived about a thousand years ago, and he lived in Hungary. He was a king, and he is very important because he was

the first real Christian king of Hungary. His father and his uncles had converted to Christianity,

but they had done it simply for political power. At this time, the Holy Roman Emperor was Catholic. And in order to be on good

relationship with him, it was important to be Catholic as well. But St. Stephen was raised in the

faith. He became very devout. And he poured his energy not into only eliminating paganism in Hungary, but also into growing the

holiness of his people. He was married to a woman who was also very devout. She has been named

Blessed. And they raised a holy family, really sanctified marriage in their country, and really changed history in Hungary

because of their devout lives. Now, this week on the Catholic Spouts podcast, we have been
