0:29.8	Hey there, sproutsouts. Today is Thursday, August 15th, 2020. Today is also a great feast day, a holy day of obligation. So get yourself to Mass today. Today is the feast of the
0:35.6	assumption of Mary into heaven. We believe that after Mary's
0:41.1	earthly life was over, God took her body and soul into heaven. That's why if you go and look for it,
0:52.1	there's no grave or tomb for the Virgin Mary.
0:56.2	Her body is in heaven.
0:58.2	Now, why?
0:59.3	Well, we believe that Mary was sinless.
1:02.3	Even from the moment of her conception, she was without sin.
1:07.4	She didn't commit a single sin her whole life.
1:10.8	And because of that, her body was ready to go to
1:14.4	heaven. At the end of time, at the end of it all, we will stand before God in final judgment.
1:22.9	Those of us that loved God and served him in the poor and the weak, he will raise our bodies from the
1:30.8	dead, will be reunited with our bodies, and we will be like Mary in heaven. So knowing that she
1:36.8	is in heaven, body and soul is a great hope for us all, that as our mother, she is calling us
1:43.6	home to live in heaven like her
1:45.9	body and soul. And we celebrate God's great gift that he gave us in Mary and that he continues
1:52.9	to give us in Mary because we know that the shortest and the surest way to heaven is through
1:59.2	Mary, to Jesus, through Mary. She doesn't want any glory for herself.
2:05.8	She only wants to take us by the hand, lead us gently as a mother would to heaven to be with Jesus.
