yesterday with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mary's heart is oftentimes shown pierced with a sword.

Now this refers to the prophecy that was given to her when she brought Jesus to the temple at the presentation.

You can read this conversation in the Bible where she was told that she would face such sorrows that her heart would be pierced by a sword.

And we know that indeed Mary's life was full of sorrows, great joys, but also great sorrows. And so when we remind ourselves that Mary is

not afraid of bad things, she's not afraid of discomfort and sadness. It is a great comfort to us that she will

always be near us, that she won't abandon us, and also that she knows what we're going through.

So our mother of sorrows refers to seven specific sorrows that we can see Mary experiencing in sacred scripture. And there is a

when Mary appeared in Cabejo, Rwanda, about 50 years ago, she identified herself as the mother of sorrows or the mother of the
