Summary

May is Mary's Month! All month we will be discussing Mary's titles. These titles will not only help us understand her better, but allow us to see the role she played in Salvation History and the relationship we can have with her today. We are kicking things off today with Mary's Dogmatic Feast Days. Each of these titles refers to one of the four Marian Dogmas.

+ MONDAY: What is Dogma?

+ TUESDAY: Mary, the Mother of God

+ WEDNESDAY: Virgin Mary

+ THURSDAY: Immactulate Conception

+ FRIDAY: Assumed into Heaven.

0:31.1	St. Potchamus lived in the late 200th, early 300th in Egypt.
0:36.3	At this time, Egypt was part of the Roman Empire, and as a young
0:40.4	man, he was forced into the Roman army. He was treated terribly, wasn't fed, was forced to do all
0:47.7	sorts of terrible work, and at one point when he was really suffering, these people, these
0:53.4	strangers, came and ministered to
0:56.0	him and his fellow soldiers. They tended to his wounds. They offered him food. And he was just so
1:02.4	confused who would do this for strangers. He found out later that these people were Christians.
1:10.0	And he was just so impressed by their willingness to love and serve those that they did not know.
1:16.5	While that moment changed St. Potamus's life when he was finally out of the army, he sought out Christianity, converted, and he eventually became a founding person in the monastic
1:30.4	movement, founded a couple of monasteries, and led many people to holiness through that way of life.
