Summary

May is Mary's Month! All month we will be discussing Mary's titles. These titles will not only help us understand her better, but allow us to see the role she played in Salvation History and the relationship we can have with her today. We are kicking things off today with Mary's Dogmatic Feast Days. Each of these titles refers to one of the four Marian Dogmas.

+ MONDAY: What is Dogma?

+ TUESDAY: Mary, the Mother of God

+ WEDNESDAY: Virgin Mary

+ THURSDAY: Immactulate Conception

+ FRIDAY: Assumed into Heaven.

This week we are talking about Mary's dogmatic titles.

Yesterday we talked about her as the mother of God.

Today we are talking about Mary as the blessed virgin Mary.

Before we tackle that, though, please join me in our May prayer, the pardon prayer from Fatima.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. My God, I believe, I adore, I hope,

and I love you. I ask pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope,

and of the Holy Spirit, amen. So like I said today, we are talking about the second dogmatic

title of Mary, Blessed Mary of a Virgin. And so there's lots of ways that you probably heard this.

Virgin Mary, Blessed Mary ever virgin, the Blessed Virgin Mary,

they're all getting at this same dogmatic truth that Mary is perpetually a virgin.

Now there's lots of ways to understand this, but I want you to think of this

this way. So Mary, her body, she was completely given to God. She kept all parts of her body

completely pure and reserved only for God from the moment that she was born through her death.

And so we know that Mary was very devout, that she was sinless, her whole life, and she never

gave any part of herself to anybody other than God. So that's how we understand this,
