0:29.3	Parism, a Franciscan saint. I am Sister Alicia Torres, a member of the Franciscans of the
0:34.7	Eucharist of Chicago, and I'm here as a guest host on the Catholic
0:37.9	Sprouts podcast to discuss the Eucharist with you. Today, we'll be talking about Eucharistic adoration.
0:45.4	So, friends, for the last four days, we have been exploring the mystery and the beauty of the Eucharist,
0:52.8	how Jesus celebrated the last supper, which was a
0:56.3	Passover meal, and he transformed that Passover meal into the very first Mass, instituting the
1:02.9	sacraments of the Eucharist and the priesthood. We talked about the paschal mystery, how Jesus
1:08.5	saved us from sin and death through his passion, death, resurrection, and ascension. Then we talked about the paschal mystery, how Jesus saved us from sin and death through his passion, death,
1:11.4	resurrection, and ascension. Then we talked about the Mass. We explored the liturgy of the Word,
1:18.8	how we hear the Word of God at Mass, and we encounter God in His Word in a most special way in the
1:24.5	gospel, and how the homily at mass opens our hearts to encounter Jesus in the
1:30.6	Eucharist. And then we talked about the liturgy of the Eucharist, that most special part of the mass where we
1:37.6	relive in a mysterious way Jesus' pastoral mystery and have the privilege of receiving him and adoring him in the
1:48.5	blessed sacrament. Now, there is another very special way that we can spend time with Jesus in the
1:55.4	blessed sacrament, and it flows from the Mass, because if you were paying attention, you probably noticed that
2:03.1	without the Mass, without the priest, we would have no blessed sacrament.
2:10.1	And so we have the privilege of reserving or keeping the consecrated hosts that are left over after the celebration of the mass in the beautiful
2:22.0	tabernacles, those typically gold boxes or fancally carved wooden boxes with the golden inside,
