This week we are continuing our 40 days with the Martyr's Lenten Series! Join us in saying this prayer each day:

ST PETER'S CHAINS PRAYER:

O God, Who caused St. Peter, the apostle, to depart, loosed from his chains and unhurt,

loose, we beg You, the chains of our sins,

and graciously keep all evils far from us.

Bless us this Lent and give us the faith of the martyrs.

We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

0:50.0	in Guatemala in the 1980s, so not that long ago.

1:35.5	Blessed Stanley Rother. Blessed Stanley Rother was an Oklahoma farm boy. He was born in 1938. As a young boy, he discerned a call to the
1:48.0	priesthood, so he went off to seminary, but seminary was very hard for him. At the time,
1:55.1	seminary really emphasized a man learning Latin, and learning a different language was just very, very hard for Blessed Stanley Rother.
2:05.1	Eventually, he was asked to leave seminary.
2:08.4	So he returned home.
2:10.0	He worked on his father's farm.
2:12.7	But he still felt this calling to be a priest.
2:16.6	Eventually, his local bishop came to visit him. He spoke to
2:20.7	Blessed Stanley Rother, and he saw in this young man a genuine calling. So he invited him back to
2:28.4	seminary. This time, Father Stanley Rother went through. He was ordained, and after his ordination, he volunteered to be a
2:37.6	missionary priest to Guatemala. Now, that surprised a lot of people, because remember, Blessed
