here we are. The beginning of the holiest week of the year, Palm Sunday. Today at Mass, we will receive palm branches. When Jesus rode on a donkey into Jerusalem, the people waved palm branches.

And at the beginning of the Mass, the priest will bless our palm branches that we get to take home.

Many people make crosses or all kinds of cool shapes out of their palms and hang them on a picture frame or around a crucifix.

The palms are actually what the church uses to create ashes for Ash Wednesday.

The gospel reading today is actually a reading of the whole passion account, so be prepared to stand for quite a long time. But don't feel

too sorry for yourself, because standing for 10 or 15 minutes is nothing compared to what Jesus had

even though he was harshly treated and persecuted.
