Summary

This week we are continuing our 40 days with the Martyr's Lenten Series! Join us in saying this prayer each day:

ST PETER'S CHAINS PRAYER:

O God, Who caused St. Peter, the apostle, to depart, loosed from his chains and unhurt,

loose, we beg You, the chains of our sins,

and graciously keep all evils far from us.

Bless us this Lent and give us the faith of the martyrs.

We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

1:26.7	Oh wow, we have another country to go to today. We have been all over the place.
1:31.4	St. Boniface from the 700s in Germany. St. Cecilia from the 200s in Rome.
1:37.6	St. Charles Luonga from the 18th in Uganda. St. Devis Cheham from the 17thous in India, St. Edith St. Edith
1:48.3	Stein from the 1800s and 1900s in Germany, and then today, St. Eulalia from the early
1:58.2	300th in what is now Spain.
2:02.4	So St. Eulalia, much like St. Cecilia, who we talked about earlier this week, is a martyr from the early church.
2:10.7	Just to review, Jesus Christ ascended back up to heaven roughly in the year 33 AD.
2:20.4	Many of his followers went out and preached. They traveled, but at first their preaching was sort of centered around Jerusalem
2:25.4	and the areas like that. Eventually, they spread out. And St. Peter, who we recognize as the first
2:33.4	pope, he ended up in Rome. God directed him to go there.
