Today, we are going to talk about what the unique things are that we can expect to see during

the Lenton season.

Many of these you probably know about, but Lent can be a very different visual time in our church.

One of the most cool things about the Catholic Church is that we enter a season with all of our senses.

We not only hear about it from the priest, but we also see it the moment that we enter a church.

One of the things that you are going to notice during Lent is the colors.

We in a Catholic church use different colors to denote different liturgical seasons.

During Lent, or at least most of Lent, the priest will be wearing purple.

Also, in most churches, at a certain point in Lent, we cover statues and icons as a way to draw our attention even more towards God alone and towards the internal conversion that we are

going through during Lent. Oftentimes statues and pictures will be covered with purple as well.

But purple is not the only color that you can expect to see during Lent.

Once we get into Lent, several Sundays in, we will celebrate what we call La Dautra Sunday.

Now, this is a Sunday where you can expect to see your priest wearing rose or probably more like a pink color.

This also happens in Advent when we celebrate what we call Godaute Sunday.

The priest wears a pinkish color to remind us that we are getting close,
