Hey there, sprouts. Today is Monday, January 26th, 2024. This week on the Catholic Spouts podcast, we are going to be talking about sacrifice with some incredible saints with lessons on

sacrifice for us.

Lord, our God, in your wisdom and love, you surround us with the mysteries of the universe.

Send your spirit upon us and fill us with your wisdom and blessings.

Grant that we may devote ourselves to our studies.

Through them, draw us ever closer to you, the source of all knowledge.

We ask this through Christ, our Lord,

amen. So we are talking about the topic of sacrifice, which is something that applies not only to

the mass, but also to our personal relationship with God and through him with other people.

But to understand this, we are going to talk about a different, very remarkable saint

that is celebrating a feast day each day this week.

And so to start us out in this topic of sacrifice, we are going to talk about a young girl

from Chile. Her name was Blessed Laura

Vassana. So Blessed Laura, she lived, she was born actually in 1891, and she died in 1904. So if you can do

the math, she was only 13 years old when she died. And she lived a very difficult

life. So when she was just a little girl, her father died. Her mother and her were left very poor,

and her mother fell into a life of sin. She actually lived with a man who treated her very poorly
