Summary

To celebrate the release of THE CATHOLIC PARENT on FORMED, a video series we have been working on for the past year with the Augustine Institute, we are spending this week discussing the Precepts of the Church. THE CATHOLIC PARENT showcases the unique and beautiful way that Catholic Families live out the Precepts of the Church...but what are the Precepts of the Church?

+ MONDAY: Attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation

+ TUESDAY: Attend Confession at least once a year.

+ WEDNESDAY: Receive the Eucharist at least once a year.

+ THURSDAY: Observe Days of Fasting and Abstinence

+ FRIDAY: Provide for the Needs of the Church

To help you understand this more, we're talking about these precepts of the church, which are basically the bare minimum.

The church requires us to do to truly be Catholic.

Lord our God, in your wisdom and love, you surround us with the mysteries of the universe.

Send your spirit upon us and fill us with your wisdom and blessings. Grant that we may

draw us ever closer to you, the source of all knowledge. We ask this through Christ,

our Lord. Amen. And so, without further ado, the fifth precept of the church is that we tithe.
