This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we are celebrating the release of the Catholic

parent, a video series on Formed that showcases the beautiful way the Catholic families live

out the precepts of the church as a Catholic family. So if you want, you can check that out

on Formed. But we are talking about the precepts of the church. Before we dive into precept number

two, however, join me in praying the prayer for students.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Lord, our God, in your wisdom and love, you surround us with the mysteries of the universe.

Send your spirit upon us and fill us with your wisdom and blessings. Grant that we may

devout ourselves to our studies. Through them draw us ever closer to you, the source of all

knowledge. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen. So yesterday we talked about how the precepts are sort of the bare minimum requirements

for us to be truly Catholic. There are five precepts. The first is attending Mass every Sunday

and every holy day of obligation. The second precept that the church gives us is that to be truly Catholic, we must go to

the sacrament of confession at least once a year, at least once a year.

So for those of you or those of you who have family that just have been away from the sacrament

of confession for years and years and years, I just want to invite you to come back.

I don't want you to feel a shame or embarrassment about it.

I want you to invite you back.
