Greetings young Squiresbrouts. Today is the 13th day in the first month in the year of our

Lord, 2024. My name is Sir Roland Paterloat, and you're listening to Saturdays with

Sir Ruland on Catholic Sprouts where every Saturday we discuss the art of dragon sling.

Today is the feast of St. Hilary of Portiers. St.

Hillary was born around the year 300 in a pagan family. He researched and studied a great

deal trying to figure out the truth about God, who he was, and why he was created. He came

to discover that none of the pagan gods made sense, but when he discovered the teachings

about Jesus and read the gospel of

John, he knew that Jesus was the son of God and that God was a loving father. He learned of the power

of the Holy Spirit, how God was three and one, father, son, and holy spirit. Shortly after converting

to Christianity, he was made a bishop and had to defend the divinity of Jesus against the Aryan heresy,

which claimed that Jesus wasn't truly God.

For his faithfulness, he was exiled by the heretics,

but that only gave him more time to study and pray and write about the truths of our faith.

His arguments were so convincing that he helped overcome the Aryan heretics and now is known as a doctor of the church.

St. Hillary is the patron against snake bites, which is our topic of conversation today as we

begin a new series on the seven deadly dragons by studying the last words of Jesus with the help

of venerable servant of God, Fulton Sheen. Bishop Fulton Sheen spoke about Jesus' seven last

words on the cross and reflected on how they are an antidote to the seven deadly sins or seven
