Summary

One of the most important things for us to remember about Jesus is that He was indeed God. He was and is infinitely more than a great teacher or prophet. He was God, and knowing this compels us to make a choice.

+ MONDAY: Jesus is the very WORD Who spoke the world into existence.

+ TUESDAY: During his public ministry, Jesus demonstrated His divine power by healing the sick, raising the dead and calming storms.

+ WEDNESDAY: Jesus also slowed authority to forgive sins, something that only God can do.

+ THURSDAY: Jesus taught with His own authority, expanding on the very Word of God in the Torah.

+ FRIDAY: Knowing that Jesus is God compels us to make a choice, just as those that lived at Jesus's time did.

He is the second person of the Trinity that at the beginning of the world, at the moment of creation, he was the very word that spoke everything into being.

1:47.3

That he demonstrated this divine power throughout his public ministry, when he healed the sick, when he calmed the storm, and when he rose the dead. He also demonstrated this divine power when he offered the forgiveness of sins.

1:55.3

And this was so startling, such a loud proclamation that he was indeed God that the Pharisees freaked out,

2:04.2

that they couldn't stand the fact that he was doing this, that it was so startling that he

2:09.1

was indeed saying that he was forgiving sins.

2:12.9

Yesterday we talked about the way that Jesus taught, that he taught in such a radical way that

2:18.7

he did not lean upon the authority of other rabbis, that he didn't even lean upon the authority

2:24.6

of the Torah, the Old Testament, but in fact he leaned upon his own authority, and that he

2:31.1

expanded the teachings of the Old Testament of the Torah.
