Hey there, sproutsouts. Today is Monday, November 27th, 20203. This week, we are in the final week of the year.

Now, in case you think I'm really confused, I'm talking about the church calendar.

Did you know that as Catholics, our new church calendar starts on the first Sunday of Advent?

And this year, the first Sunday of Advent is December 3rd, this coming Sunday.

In fact, yesterday, on the final Sunday of the year, we celebrated a great feast day. This feast day goes by lots of different names. It's called Christ the king,

Jesus, Lord of the Universe. Whatever you want to call it, we celebrate the kingship of Jesus Christ

on the final Sunday before Advent begins.

And we are going to spend this whole week talking about why Jesus is king, what that has to do with us,

here now living in this day and age,

and how we can become better followers of this great, great king.

Before we get to that, please join me in praying Psalm 136 versus 1 through 3.

We are still in November, even though we're on the other side of

Thanksgiving and we still need to cultivate gratitude and thanksgiving to God in the name of

the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit amen oh give thanks to the Lord for he is good

for his steadfast love endures forever oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.

Oh, give thanks to the God of Gods, for his steadfast love endures forever.

Oh, give thanks to the Lord of Lords, for his steadfast love endures forever. Amen.

So as I mentioned, this is the final week of the church calendar. We celebrated Christ the king on Sunday. So we're going to pause right there,

and we're just going to dig into this idea that Jesus is king. Now, living here in the United
