Summary

Join us as we explore the 9th Commandment, and discover all the ways it applies to us, even if we and our neighbors don't have wives! :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:

  • Monday: What does it mean to be 'pure of heart' and how does pursuing purity allow us to 'see God?'

  • Tuesday: Let's explore chastity, the way in which we live out being pure of heart.

  • Wednesday: Part of being pure is having pure intentions when we meet other people, and refusing to treat any person as an object.

  • Thursday: Take a minute to learn about modesty, and consider if you are dressing modestly and/or consuming material that presents people in a modest way.

  • Friday: We wrap up the entire week with the biography of Blessed Chiara Badano, our patron of this month in the Be A Saint Kid's Club. She is a wonderful example of living purity and the joy it can bring to the lives of others, no matter what we are experiencing.

Hey there, sprouts. Today is Tuesday, November 7th, 2003. This week, we are tackling the Ninth Commandment. You shall not covet your

neighbor's wife. And yesterday we started talking about purity, striving to be pure of heart,

and remembering that there is a lot that the church says specifically about the Ninth

0:45.0

Commandment that applies to all people, not just married people, but all people, including

0:50.6

even children. So we're going to continue that today by talking about chastity.

0:56.8

But before we get there, please join me in praying Psalm 136 verses 1 through 3. These very simple verses

1:05.1

really get at the way that God loves us and how we have so much to give thanks to him for. And we're challenged this month

1:14.0

by Blessed Kiara Bedano and the BSA. Kids Club to just live a life of Thanksgiving.

1:19.9

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

1:25.8

Oh, give thanks to the Lord for He is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.

1:32.9

Oh, give thanks to the God of God, for his steadfast love endures forever. Oh, give thanks to the

1:40.8

Lord of Lords, for his steadfast love endures forever. Amen. So today we're going to

1:48.9

tackle the topic of chastity. So this is a big topic and there's some sort of adult themes with

1:56.3

this that you'll learn about gradually as you grow older. But it's an important thing to even think about

2:02.7

now. So first to start, I want you to just think about your body. Okay. Our bodies, there are

2:10.2

certain parts of our bodies that it's important that we cover up when we're not taking a shower, right? There's certain pieces of clothing, parts of our body

2:21.1

that simply need to be covered. But if we think about just our body, there's certain things we need

2:27.7

to realize that just as our personality and our mind is so good. We think of those things sort of as our soul.

2:38.1

Our body itself is also very good. Now, even if you got into a terrible accident and you lost your

2:47.7

legs or you were a burn victim and your skin looks very different or you were sick
