Hey there, sprouts. Today is Thursday, September 28th, 2003. Today is also the feast day of St. Winseslaus. St. Winsislaus lived in the 900s. He was the king of Bohemia, and there's a very popular Christmas song about him

that goes, dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun I don't know the words, so I'll just sing the melody.

But this true story of King Winsesloss, Saint Wencesloss, is that he was a Christian king

at the time when Christianity was spreading into that world but had not been fully accepted.

So his grandmother, Ludwina, had actually converted, was very strong in her faith.

His father was not so strong, but Ludwina was able to raise Wencesloss in the faith, and he became very devout himself.

However, his mother was pagan, practiced the pagan faith, and was determined to return Bohemia to the control of the pagans.

So Winseslotz's own mother had his grandmother, Ludwina, murdered.

Regardless of all of this,

Winsa Sloths remained dedicated to his faith,

even though eventually he was murdered himself by other nobles who practiced the pagan faith.

Regardless, his faith was so strong, his example so powerful, that Bohemia, that part of the world, became a bastion of Christianity in the years after his death.

Now, we are talking about the Fourth Commandment today, but before we get to that,

please join me in praying the fragrance prayer. In the name of the Father and of the Son and

of the Holy Spirit, amen. Dear Jesus, help us to spread your fragrance everywhere we go.

Flood our souls with your spirit and life,

penetrate and possess our whole being so utterly that our lives may only be a radiance of yours.
