Summary

It's week three of our series on the 10 Commandments. This week we will be discussing the 3rd Commandment, REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY, TO KEEP IT HOLY.

Monday: Our Sabbath observance asks us to recall how God rested on the 7th day of creation, and the covenant He made with the Israelites after He rescued them from slavery.
Tuesday: In the Gospels, Jesus was often accused of breaking the Sabbath by curing on that day. Why did He do that and what does it mean?
Wednesday: As Christians, we now celebrate the Sabbath on Sundays, the day of the Resurrection.
Thursday: Attending Holy Mass on Sundays is the most important part of our Sabbath rest. Each Sunday is a Holy Day of obligation.
Friday: What does it mean to rest and how do we keep the other hours of a Sunday holy and restful?

0:29.8	Hey there, sprouts. Today is Thursday, September 21st, 2003. Today is also the feast day of one of the apostles, one of the writers of the gospel, St. Matthew the Apostle. Now, we know from the
0:37.2	gospel that Matthew, who is sometimes called Levi,
0:41.1	he was a tax collector that Christ called him to come and be his follower. Matthew stood up,
0:48.4	left everything behind, and followed Jesus. Now after the gospel accounts end, Matthew continued to be a follower of Jesus,
0:59.2	and he took the commission to bring the gospel message to the ends of the world very much to heart.
1:06.4	He is responsible for bringing the faith to Syria, and history tells us that he lost his life
1:13.9	as a martyr in Ethiopia, bringing the faith there.
1:18.3	So he traveled widely, baptized many, and brought so many people to Jesus.
1:24.9	Now, this week we are talking about the third commandment to keep the Sabbath
1:29.7	day holy. Before we return to that conversation, please join me in praying the fragrance
1:35.8	prayer. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.
1:43.1	Dear Jesus, help us to spread your fragrance everywhere we go.
1:48.5	Flood our souls with your spirit and life.
1:52.2	Penetrate and possess our whole being so utterly
1:55.7	that our lives may only be a radiance of yours.
2:06.1	Shine through us and be so in us that every person we should come in contact with may feel your presence in our soul. Let them look up and see no longer us,
