Summary
It's week three of our series on the 10 Commandments. This week we will be discussing the 3rd Commandment, REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY, TO KEEP IT HOLY.
-
Monday: Our Sabbath observance asks us to recall how God rested on the 7th day of creation, and the covenant He made with the Israelites after He rescued them from slavery.
-
Tuesday: In the Gospels, Jesus was often accused of breaking the Sabbath by curing on that day. Why did He do that and what does it mean?
-
Wednesday: As Christians, we now celebrate the Sabbath on Sundays, the day of the Resurrection.
-
Thursday: Attending Holy Mass on Sundays is the most important part of our Sabbath rest. Each Sunday is a Holy Day of obligation.
-
Friday: What does it mean to rest and how do we keep the other hours of a Sunday holy and restful?

| 0:41.8 | lives for the faith. Between the year 1839 and 1867, there was various waves of persecution |
| 0:49.5 | that went through Korea during that time. St. Andrew Kim Tegon was born to a noble family that had |
| 0:57.0 | been converted to the Christian faith. He studied and became the first Korean-born priest. |
| 1:05.1 | Now, the interesting thing about the faith coming to Korea is that people brought the faith to Korea through the scriptures, |
| 1:13.9 | that there were not missionaries, that people simply studied the scriptures, the writings and |
| 1:18.8 | tradition of the church, and they converted, and they practiced the faith for a long time without |
| 1:23.7 | a priest. They wanted a priest, they tried to get one, but they struggled to get a priest into Korea. |
| 1:30.4 | And when the first missionaries arrived there, they were astounded to find the true and |
| 1:36.8 | devout faith there without missionaries. |
| 1:40.8 | And so these brave martyrs defended the faith, taught the faith, even without missionaries. |
| 1:48.3 | So the story of the faith in Korea is just really remarkable. |
| 1:52.4 | And today we remember the men and women that died for the faith there. |
| 1:57.7 | Now this week we are talking about the Third Commandment, but before we get back to that, please join me in praying the fragrance prayer. |
| 2:07.0 | In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. |
| 2:12.4 | Dear Jesus, help us to spread your fragrance everywhere we go. |
