Summary

Who are the real heroes? The saints! This week we have quite the line up for saints celebrating feast days, so let's reflect on their stories and marvel at what it means to be heroes in Christ's army.

+ Monday we explore the story of St. Mary MacKillop (although her feast day is Tuesday). She was the first saint from Australia and faced many hardships.

+ Tuesday we celebrate the feast of St. Dominic. Tune in to hear about his heroic life and the gift of the Rosary which Mary handed to him from heaven.

+ Wednesday is the feast day of St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein). She is the patron saint of this month in the BE A SAINT KID's Club and a wonderful example of heroic love during a terrible moment in history.

+ Thursday is the feast day of St. Lawerence, a hero from the early Church.

+ Friday is the feast day of St. Clare of Assisi. This stubborn, wonderful saint stood up to a barbarian army when she was too sick to get out of bed. amazing.

1:30.7	feast days this week and really examining what it takes to become a hero in our church, also known as a
1:39.3	saint, the heroic lives that these people lived. We have already talked about the Australian saint,
1:46.6	St. Mary MacKillop. We talked about St. Dominic and the moment he received the rosary from Mary.
1:53.6	And today we are going to talk about St. Teresa Benedicta of the cross, also known as St. Edith
1:59.4	Stein. And just so you know, Edith Stein was her name
2:03.5	from birth. That was the name, her family name, the name her parents gave her when she was born.
2:09.0	But St. Teresa Benedicta of the cross was the name that she took when she entered her vocation
2:15.2	as a Carmelite nun.
2:23.0	So in the church, we remember her formally by the name she chose when she entered that vocation, St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross.
2:27.5	So born Edith Stein in the year 1891, St. Teresa Benedict of the Cross was born in Germany.
