Today is Thursday, June 1st, 2003.

Today is also the feast day of St. Justin Martyr.

St. Justin lived in the very early days of the church under the persecution of the Roman

Empire.

He was a philosopher. He actually was born pagan, had this deep longing and search for God. He found truth in the early church. His writings,

which still are around today, were some of the first to speak about the Eucharist. And so even though he lived

during the 100s, he participated in the Mass. And he spoke about the clear teaching that the

Eucharist was and is the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ. St. Joseph's Martyr was so deeply,

deeply moved by the truth of our church that he went out to teach and he even tried to teach

the emperor, unfortunately, who was not receptive. And he, just like his name name says he died a martyr for the faith so this

week we are talking about the rosary and even though today is june first and we have left me behind it's

always a good time to talk about mary and the rosary so we are going to keep doing that but before we get

there we do have a new month in the B.S.

A. St. Kids Club, this month's patron is St. Cotiri. We're going to talk a lot about her,

but she is challenging us this month to learn the come Holy Spirit prayer. So if you would please join me in praying that. In the name of the Father and of the

Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them

the fire of your love. Send forth your spirit and they shall be created and you shall renew the face of the earth.
