0:23.6	Today is Wednesday, May 31st, 2023.
0:28.4	Today is also the feast day of the visitation.
0:33.3	Today is the day that we remember Mary leaving in haste to visit her cousin Elizabeth, who is expecting
0:41.9	St. John the Baptist. And we remember those beautiful words when Elizabeth ran out to greet Mary
0:49.7	and this little child in her womb, St. John the Baptist, leapt for joy. This beautiful memory.
0:57.6	Now, let's just think back a little bit on the other feasts that we have celebrated. On March 25th,
1:04.8	we celebrated the Annunciation. So that is the moment that Mary said yes and conceived Jesus.
1:13.0	And so here we are a little over a month later, and Mary is there greeting Elizabeth.
1:20.1	So if you have ever had a mom that was expecting a baby, you can probably guess that Mary was just a tiny bit pregnant,
1:30.9	but probably feeling kind of crummy. So I think about that, that she made this long journey
1:35.5	to see her cousin Elizabeth when she probably wasn't feeling very well. And she submitted
1:41.4	there to serve Elizabeth and her family.
1:44.7	Will Elizabeth prepare to greet a baby?
1:48.2	Elizabeth was very old, crazy old to be having a baby.
1:53.1	And Mary was there helping her get all the bedding in order, the clothes, the house pulled together, taking care of her, taking care of Zachariah,
2:02.2	who at this point, we know he had lost his voice, he couldn't speak because he doubted that his
2:08.3	wife could have a baby. So she was there doing all of these chores when she herself was facing
2:14.3	some pretty great unknowns and not probably feeling very physically well.
