Hey there, Sprouse. Today is Friday, January 25th, 2019. This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we have been talking about the theological virtue of hope. With the help of St. Agnes, we talked about how heaven is our true home and we need to place all of our trust in the power and might of God,

not in our own power and might.

On Tuesday, we talked about how even when we live in a world that is full of evil and bad laws,

we need to place our hope in God that he alone can write these wrongs.

On Wednesday, we talked about how hope is our lifeboat in this world

and how this world will be hard and full of suffering, but hope sustains us until we get to heaven

with God. And yesterday, with the help of St. Francis to Sails, we talked about how we can pray

always and how drawing near to God, how praying more and more

it brings us closer to God and therefore will allow the theological virtue of hope to grow in us.

Today we are going to talk about a certain prayer that outlines exactly what we need to believe and what hope means when we talk about it as a virtue.

And guess what?

You already know this prayer.

This prayer is the Our Father.

The Our Father really does show exactly what we need to hope and believe in. So let's look at it. Okay. So the first part of

the Our Father says, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallow it be thy name. Thy kingdom come,

thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

So remember, hope reminds us that God is good, that God is powerful, and that we need to rely on him, not on ourselves.

So just the fact that he's our father is a beautiful reminder in hope that he's not going to forget about us, that he has a

place prepared for us in his house in heaven. When we say hallowed be thy name, that means holy

is your very name, O God. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done. That means this world isn't perfect, but we pray that your kingdom does come

and that we can be the lights of your kingdom here on earth. Thy will be done. This is the greatest
