0:31.3	Hey Sprouts, Today is Wednesday, March 29th, 2020. This week we were talking about the Eucharistic prayer, which is a super important part of the Mass. We began talking about it, but we have several other parts to cover
0:39.9	today and tomorrow. But before we get there, let's just really come to God with an attitude of
0:46.0	surrender, knowing that he is God and we are not. And so if you would join me in praying the
0:52.1	surrender prayer, in the name of the Father and the Son
0:55.2	and the Holy Spirit, amen. Take Lord and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding,
1:03.0	and my entire will. All I have and call my own. You have given all to me. To you, Lord, I return it. Everything is yours to do with what you will.
1:14.6	Give me only your love and your grace. That is enough for me. Amen. So yesterday we talked about the
1:21.5	beginning of the Eucharistic prayer, including the Holy, Holy, where we sing with the the angels and then we kneel, remembering that kneeling is a posture of prayer so that what comes next, although it is mostly spoken by the priest, we all join in in prayer as well.
1:49.3	So the next part of the Eucharist prayer is the invocation. At this part, we call down God's power through the Holy Spirit that the gifts of bread and wine will become for us
1:59.4	the body and blood of Jesus Christ. And we are aware that we are
2:05.1	so fortunate to be here, to witness this miracle, and even beyond that, to receive Jesus here.
2:14.6	The next part of the Eucharistic prayer is called the institution narrative. And this is
2:21.3	probably what you think of. The specific part is what you think of as the Eucharistic prayer. Now,
2:27.5	in this part, the priest recounts the events of the Last Supper. He recounts how Jesus was there gathered around with his
2:37.7	disciples. And then also the priest says the exact words that Jesus said when he instituted the Eucharist,
2:47.5	right? Take this all of you and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be
2:54.6	given up for you. And then again, with the cup, with the precious blood. So this is a very important
3:04.6	moment. Now, we don't know the exact moment, the exact word that God decides to
3:12.5	transform the bread and the wine into the precious body and blood of Jesus. We know that this is
3:18.1	a super important part, especially when the priest elevates the bread and the wine.
