Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023. Now this week, we are talking about three more parts of the Mass.

Yesterday, we talked about our profession of faith. Today, we are talking about the prayers of the faithful.

But before we get there, if you would join me in reciting the surrender prayer, in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, amen. Take Lord and receive all my liberty, my memory,

my understanding, and my entire will. All I have and call my own.

You have given all to me. To you, Lord, I return it. Everything is yours. Do with it what you will.

Give me only your love and your grace. That is enough for me. Amen.

So yesterday we spoke about how when we look at the mass, we can understand what we're doing

in that moment better by understanding what led right up to it. It's one thing leads to another. And if you remember yesterday,

we talked about the profession of faith. We stand together. We recite these very old, very

important words that describe our faith. We're describing in here our relationship with God,

that he created us, that he saved us through Jesus Christ, and that through

the Holy Spirit, he guides us. So we're basically saying over and over again, I am not God,

there is one, but I am not him. And so in the prayers of the faithful, we're acknowledging that.

We're acknowledging that there is a God and that he does all things.

I don't.

That I need to be saved, but I can't do that on my own.

So we stand together and we offer our prayers.

Now, oftentimes, when the priest is praying before the prayers of the faithful begin,

he will say that we turn to God in confidence to offer these prayers.

Now, why do we turn in confidence? Well, it's because of everything we've done up to

these points. Remember, in the readings, we hear about God acting through history, what he did with
