Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Tuesday, March 21st, 2003. This week we are talking about the Mass. Specifically, we are talking about the profession of faith, the prayers of the faithful, and the presentation of the gifts.

But before we get there, if you'll join me in praying the surrender prayer,

in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, amen.

Take Lord and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my entire will, all I have and call my own.

So let's dive into the very next part of the Mass, which is the profession of faith.

So as you remember, we talked about the introductory rights of the Mass.

Last week we talked about the readings and the homily.

And now what follows this is we all stand,

and together we proclaim our faith.

Now, this makes sense.

Now, remember, there is nothing random that is happening at mass.

Everything is ordered in a powerful way to help us understand.

And each part is responding to the part before it.

So remember, we heard about God's faithfulness, his good and his mighty deeds throughout the entire history of the world.

Then the priests spoke and helped us apply that to our lives.

And so in response, after the homily, we stand as one, as a full community, and we stand also as a full church, and we profess that we believe. Everything that has been shared in the readings and the homily,

we believe. We profess that I believe that I trust God and that I am here to proclaim a relationship.

Now that is the big thing to really sort of absorb and wrap your mind around.

When I stand and recite the creed, I am saying that I am in relationship with God and His Church.
