| 1:15.3 | So miracles. This week we have already talked about how important Jesus's miracles were, how they proved that he was the Messiah, and miracles in our Christian faith |
| 1:21.8 | continue to prove that we are the church guided by the Holy Spirit. We talked about the fact that miracles have a hidden cause. |
| 1:31.3 | And yesterday we reminded ourselves that nothing is impossible for God. |
| 1:35.4 | We can hope for miracles. |
| 1:37.5 | And we pray for miracles by first asking for forgiveness for our sins |
| 1:42.3 | and then asking with a bold and reckless faith for the miracle. |
| 1:48.5 | Now, today, we are going to talk about why it's hard today in our modern world to believe in |
| 1:55.6 | miracles. It's hard. I believe it was easier for the early Christians than it is for us today. |
| 2:02.7 | Now, let's be honest. Our world is very, very different than the world of the 200s. |
| 2:09.9 | When the church was just becoming established and our first saints, many of them were dying as martyrs, |
| 2:17.2 | but the first saint stories were being told. |
| 2:20.3 | Our world is very different. We can connect with people instantly in other parts of the world. |
| 2:27.3 | We have comfortable lives and technology, and we also benefit from many tremendous advancements in science. In fact, science can sometimes |

| 2:47.1 | miraculous, like the internet probably would have seemed like a miracle to them, but it's just |
