Today is Tuesday, January 10th, 2022.

This week on the Catholic Sprouts podcast, we are looking to our patron St.

Andre Passett for an example of how to be holy, even when our lives are ordinary, hidden, and not important.

And let's start by working to memorize the verses he's challenging us to memorize from the book of Deuteronomy, chapter 6, verses 4 through 9.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, amen.

Hear, O Israel, the Lord is your God,

the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all of your heart, with all your soul,

and with all your strength. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart,

and you shall repeat them diligently to your sons,

and speak of them when you sit in your house,

when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up.

Amen.

So yesterday we heard the story of Saint Andre Bissette, a saint who was often overlooked in life, continues to be overlooked even now. And he reminds us that even though our lives are

ordinary, like his, we do ordinary things like answer the door, do laundry, say our prayers, that we can become holy through these things.

Now, St. Andre Pesed is an interesting saint because he had clearly a favorite saint in heaven, a patron himself, and that saint was St. Joseph.

In fact, it's very hard to talk about St. Andre Beset without talking about St. Joseph.

He credited all of the miracles that his prayers procured to St. Joseph.

He also really worked to rally people to gather them close to St. Joseph.

He helped his order purchase a large piece of land. And eventually on that land, a huge shrine to

St. Joseph was built in Montreal.
