Today is Tuesday, October 4th, 2022.

Today is also the feast day of one of the most influential saints in our church, who is St. Francis.

St. Francis lived during the 1100s in Italy. He was from a wealthy family,

and as a young man, he just wanted to prove himself as a brave knight. However, when he was on his way to fight in the Crusades, he had a vision of Jesus. He was told to rebuild Christ's church. And eventually

he realized that this was about rebuilding the heart of the church. He gave away all of his

possessions, took on a life of extreme poverty, and became a powerful example of Christ

in our midst.

He formed a new order, and we still have the Franciscans with us today.

We are in October under the patronage of St. Terese for this month of the B.A. St. Kids Club.

So join me as we continue to learn the prayer she's

challenged us to learn, which is the Hail Holy Queen. In the name of the Father and of the Son

and of the Holy Spirit, Amen. Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our

hope. To thee do we cry, poor sweetness, and our hope. To thee, do we cry, poor banished

children of Eve. To thee, do we send up our sighs, mourning, and weeping in this veil of tears.

Turn then, most gracious advocate, then eyes of mercy towards us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy

womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary, pray for us, O holy mother of God,

that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.

So it's the first week of October, and we have been talking about our patron of this month,

St. Cherez. Now, yesterday we talked about how on the surface she was pretty unremarkable.

She only lived until she was 24, and she didn't really do very much during that time.
