Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Monday, September 26, 2020. Today is also the feast day of Cosmos and Damien, who were twin brothers, who lived in the 300s and died as martyrs for the faith. Before their death, they worked as doctors to cure those that were ill. Now, today is also part of September. We are under the

patronage of Blessed Carlo Acudis, who is challenging us, amid other things, to memorize the

morning offering.

So if you will join me in prayer, in the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, amen.

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day.

For all the intentions of your sacred heart in union with

the holy sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, for the salvation of souls, the reparation

of sins, and the reunion of all Christians, and in particular for the intentions of the Holy

Father this month. Amen.

So it is the final week of September, and we are going to conclude each month of this year,

but we are doing our B.S.A. St. Kids Club by looking at one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. As we know, saints are in heaven

with our Lord. It is only through God's work that we become holy, that we embrace the faith and that we

live out that faith through acts of charity. So each of these men and women that we are

using as guides for our Be a Saint Kids Club, they received, they opened themselves up and

received God's gift. And it was that gift of God himself that made them saints. So we're going to start by

looking at the gift that perhaps maybe doesn't sound like one you want to receive, but it's super

important. And that gift is fear of the Lord. So fear of the Lord, why is this such an important gift that allows us to

become saints? Well, I want you to understand this gift correctly. When we talk about fear,

there's two very different ways to fear an authority figure. So the first one I want you to think about is a

lifeguard. Now, I as a young woman worked many summers as a lifeguard at a big pool, and there were

lots of naughty kids that came to swim at that pool every day. They would do all sorts of things
