Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Wednesday, December 5th, 2018. This week on the Catholic Sprouts

podcast, we have been talking about Advent. We first talked about what the season of Advent is for,

and yesterday we talked about our Advent wreaths, what they symbolize and how we should use them.

Today we are going to dive into the Jesse Tree.

Now the Jesse Tree is an Advent devotional activity that you can do.

It helps us to wait along with the Israelites.

We are asked to wait for four weeks.

They waited for hundreds of years.

The Jesse Tree is simply a list of Jesus' ancestors.

All people that came before Jesus. Jesse is a man in the Jesse tree, and it was foretold that a person

in his family tree would become the savior of the world. I wanted you to know before we start,

however, that not all of the people included in the Jesse tree were necessarily good people and none of them were perfect, at least not until you get to the end and there's Mary and Jesus.

God was willing to work through and use imperfect, sinful people, and yet his plan

came to happen. So let's talk about today how all things started. A course at the beginning,

God created the world. He created Adam and Eve, and they lived in the

Garden of Eden. As you probably know, God had only one rule for them there, that they shouldn't

eat from one particular tree. But Satan came, tempted Adam and Eve. They disobeyed God because

they didn't trust him. And the consequence was that they

were kicked out of the Garden of Eden. The more important consequence, however, is that sin

entered the world. And all of the descendants of Adam and Eve, including you and including me,

inherited original sin from them. Now, it's easy to see God as a bit of a bad guy here, that he just
