The crypto industry is closing out 2025 with a bang, recording $8.6 billion in mergers and acquisitions,

up significantly from just $2.17 billion the year prior. The deal search is being credited to the

pro-cryptop policy shift in Washington, including the passage of the Genius Act, which has encouraged

institutional expansion. Coinbase led the pack with the year's largest deal, a $2.9 billion

acquisition of derivatives platform Deribit. Other major moves included Crackins' $1.5 billion purchase of Ninja Trader

and Ripples, $1.25 billion buyout of Hidden Road as companies rushed to acquire firms with established licenses.

Utility or privacy. The transparency of traditional blockchains forces a difficult choice break free from this limitation

with midnight. Tampa Media moved roughly 2,000 Bitcoin worth $174 million through a series of

wallets on Thursday just a day after increasing its total holdings to over 11,500 Bitcoin.

Blockchain data shows that while $12 million landed in Coinbase Prime custody, the majority

was routed to other internal wallets. The activity suggests a treasury reorganization rather than

an immediate sell-off, as Coinbase Prime is primarily a storage solution. Bitcoin price showed

little reaction to the transfers holding steady near $89,000, while DJT shares rallied over 30% in the last week.

And trust wallet users lost more than $7 million shortly after it released an updated version of its extension for the Chrome web browser.

Finance co-founder, CZ, has confirmed that all stolen funds will be reimbursed.

XBT specifically affected version 2.68 up the browser extension. The trust wallet team is urging

all desktop users to upgrade to version 2.69 immediately, though they noted that mobile users

are not impacted. The incident caps a difficult year for crypto security with chain
