Admiral Rachel Levine served for four years as President Biden's Assistant Secretary of Health

and Human Services. She was in fact the very first transgender person to win Senate confirmation.

The Admiral's official portrait has been hanging in the Humphrey building in Washington, D.C. since

she was confirmed in 2021. Recently, however, a spokesperson for Health and Human Services confirmed that Admiral Levine's

portrait has been altered. How? Well, as the Hill reports, the Admiral's birth name,

or dead name, has replaced her actual name below her photograph and underneath the glass

of the frame. This was not an anonymous

act of vandalism. This was intentional bigotry sanctioned by the government of the United States of

America. Because I'm not trans, I can't imagine what this kind of malicious disrespect must feel like,

but I do know that dead naming a trans

person is extraordinarily hurtful and offensive. This act is a small window into what and who we're

dealing with in the Trump regime, because not only do we know what the act of vandalism was or

who was responsible for it, we know why it was done.

This country is currently led by a petty, weak, very small man who surrounds himself with other

petty, weak, very small people who hate themselves so much that the only semblance of joy

they get is in making other people feel bad.

That is partially what this attack on Admiral Levine is about, but it's also about who the

Trump regime is choosing to target.

On the one hand, those who are better and more accomplished, yes, because among other things,

these are also very jealous and insecure people who are wildly

unaccomplished, but they also target the weak, the disadvantaged and the vulnerable, because they're
