Summary

There is a bill that can save the lives of millions of animals. The Cruelty-Free Cosmetics Act of California would ban the sale of all cosmetic products that have been tested on animals statewide. If passed, it would could spell the end of all animal testing in the cosmetics industry!

Actress Kristin Bauer van Straten from the hit HBO series True Blood joins "The Weight Loss Champion" Chuck Carroll to talk about the difficulties of having exclusively non-animal tested makeup on set and her time lobbying at the state capital. She emotionally recalls becoming aware of the conditions animals are kept in during lab testing.

Chuck is also joined by Elizabeth Baker, who is the regulatory policy director for the Physicians Committee. She details the massive effect the legislation would have and the overwhelming support it has received so far. But she also points out that it is a long way from becoming law and that more help is needed to get it passed.

Dr. Neal Barnard shares how YOU can help no matter where you live in the world.

of animal testing on cosmetics. However, it has not yet been passed. That's what we're

0:47.2

going to talk about in today's program. So today, you're going to hear from our policy
