Welcome to this bonus episode of Once Upon a Crime.

On today's episode, I'll be taking you inside CrimeCon 2019.

It was held this month in New Orleans.

I was honored to be invited to be part of the biggest true crime convention in existence.

There were over 4,000 attendees this year.

And some of the featured speakers included Christopher Darden and Tom Lang from the OG Simpson

trial, Dr. Henry Lee, one of the world's leading forensic scientists, and attorney David

Rudolph from the staircase slash Michael Peterson trial.

I was one of the featured podcasters on CrimeCon's podcast row, and Once Upon a Crime had a

live show recording as well.

I'll be giving you some details on both of those fun things and more.

But my travels didn't end there.

I then went on to New York for a quick stopover before heading up to Toronto to attend

the Toronto True Crime Film Festival on June 14th and 15th.

I'll give you some details about what I did there as well.

So without further ado, here's my travel tales summer 2019 edition.

So I started out the day before CrimeCon began, which was on Thursday June 6.

I had to stop over in Austin, Texas.

There was a little bit of weather there, but it really wasn't that much of an issue.

I think the delay was about 45 minutes.

So I arrived Thursday evening at our hotel, which was the Hilton Riverside, which is where

the convention was being held.
